5 Daily Organization Tips
1. Make a list. It doesn't have to be typed; you can scrawl in onto a napkin. Jotting down times, places and even phone numbers keeps things running smoothly. And if you make your list the night before, chances are you'll sleep better knowing the next day's schedule has been dutifully organized.
2. Check it off. As you complete each activity, cross it out or check it off. Use a big, fat red Sharpie, if it makes ou feel even more efficient and victoroius.
3. Confirm, confirm, confirm! There's nothing like a forgetful client to ruin a carefully organized day. Call before each appointment to be sure you're expected.
4. Stick to a routine. Routines may put your brain on autopilot (not always a good thing), but there's no denying that doing things in the same order day after day--make bed, take shower, eat breakfast--keeps your feet a-walking.
5. Wall calendars. For those of us not quite adjusted to PDA life, the tried-and-true wall calendar continues to be our best friend. Place it in a central location for maximum exposure, and color code your entries--black for work, red for play, blue and pink for the kids--and you've got easy-to-read reminders of all the directions you're scheduled to be pulled each day.
