5 Energy Boosters
1. Sleep. Yeah, yeah, we know about the health benefits of solid, uninterrupted sleep, but sometimes 8 hours are not in the cards when there are deadlines to be met and invoices to be filed. Just do your best to rest, and, if you can, take power naps during the day--they work wonders.
2. Exercise. It's always mind-boggling to us how we can do 30 minutes of hard pedaling on an exercise bike and emerge with more energy than before.
3. Eat. Complex carbohydrates, whether it's pasta or peas, offer sustaining energy.
4. Don't be a slouch! Watch your posture. Sitting up straight opens your chest cavity and can increase oxygen intake, which can help jumpstart your energy levels.
5. Just breathe. You don't necessarily have to meditate or do yoga; just breathe deeply and slowly when you feel yourself losing steam, and you may be surprised at the resulting perkiness.
